Hive Tasmania, 50 Main Rd, Ulverstone TAS

String Theory - “Physics meets music tour" As part of Science Week, String Theory is a science-inspired music program with conversations about creating music based on scientific ideas. In particular, this program explores ideas about string theory from former Tasmanian physicist, Bill Spence in his recent book Everything Is Now.

Electric violinists, Suzanne Turner and Emily Sanzaro play a new piece by composer Karlin Love celebrating Bill's book. Physics teacher, Jason Dicker, and Karlin will discuss the ideas and how Karlin turned them into music.

The program will also include 'Pathway T(w)o' - a collection of duets for unusual small instruments played by Jon Addison and Karlin Love. The program will include projected images from the Gorge, featuring macro-photography by Wendy Miller.
